Break open instead of falling apart.
Sometimes to grow into the next version of ourselves, everything around us has to change. And with that growth, comes grief.
Nobody can tell us what our grieving will look like. But this time around, instead of falling apart and numbing ourselves to avoid feeling the pain of change, may we be brave enough to let our hearts break. Let it break open like a butterfly’s chrysalis, and let us trust that we are capable of a holy transformation. Let us remember that the evidence of our lives proves we get through things. And this time will be no different.
As Audre Lorde said, “I feel, therefore I can be free.” Let that which is greater than us, by whatever name we call it( Ancestors, Universe, God, or Intuition) guide us. Hold us. Remind us that to feel is exactly what makes us human. To feel will set us free.
I love you.
I’m practicing what I preach, and finding moments to rest. I won’t be doing Messy Mondays at Night this evening, but will return next week with
to discuss the finale of our obsession, Love Island and what this guilty pleasure of a show has taught us about love and relationships in our own lives!
